Dale Albert
President & CEO

Dale Albert, Vice President, Sales & Marketing

Assuming the responsibilities of President & CEO, effective January 1, 2007, Dale’s experience in supply chain has led to many of Hallmark’s current strategic business ventures, including our Technical Services division and our Integrated Tubular Solutions Centre in Nisku, Alberta. Dale was also accountable for the integration of our 3 divisions, ensuring maximum value to all stakeholders. 

As Executive Vice President, Dale was part of the original team that helped grow the company from modest beginnings to its stellar nine-digit revenues first achieved in 1998.  Hallmark’s reputation of supplying from world class seamless and ERW mills allowed Dale and his team to develop long-term, strategic customer relationships and a global supply network second to none in the industry. 

He began his career in the oil & gas industry in 1978, working in various areas, including NDT inspection, field warehousing and oilfield transportation.

Prior to joining Hallmark in 1991, Dale owned and operated an oilfield transportation company, and was President of a start-up oilfield services firm in St. John's, Newfoundland.

Dale also holds a P.Log from the Canadian Professional Logistics Institute.

Steve Kalny
Vice President, Sales & Marketing

Steve joined Hallmark in May 1996, after spending several years with a major oil and gas exploration and production company in various procurement related positions. During his 10 years at Hallmark, Steve has held various positions in the sales department, including Account Manager, Sales Manager – East Coast and Western Canada and most recently as Director of Integrated Tubular Sales.

As Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Steve is responsible for leading the sales department in providing the highest levels of customer service while maintaining focus on achieving key revenue, margin and market share targets in alignment with Hallmark’s vision and long term strategic plan. 

 

Steve is a graduate of the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.

Henry Ewert
Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer, Henry is primarily responsible for financial reporting and compliance, treasury management, risk management and strategic planning.

After several years in corporate lending with the Bank of Montreal, Henry joined SMED International Inc. in 1996 as their Treasurer, where he helped manage their rapid growth until the company was taken over in 2000. Henry then joined Standen's Limited as Vice President, Finance & Administration, where he was responsible for financial reporting, information systems and human resources, as well as handling executive responsibilities for two operating divisions.

Joining Hallmark in 2006, Henry is a valuable asset to the executive team, bringing with him depth of experience in significant manufacturing and distribution companies.

Henry is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Commerce, and obtained his designation as a Chartered Accountant in 1990. 

Kevin Powell
Vice President, Operations

Kevin Powell, Vice Presdient, Operations

As Vice President of Operations, Kevin oversees both Hallmark Technical Services (HTS) and Hallmark Integrated Tubular Solutions (HITS).  HTS is Hallmark's installation and technical services division, while HITS is Hallmark's supply chain services division.

With over 25 years' experience in supply chain management and transportation logistics, supporting all related fields in the oil & gas industry, Kevin is well suited for the challenges that his position entails.

Prior to his appointment at Hallmark, Kevin held various positions in Gulf Canada, Dome Petroleum and Numac Energy.  More recently, he consulted for Hallmark as its stakeholder, Marubeni-Itochu, for 2 years before joining Hallmark full-time.

Kevin is a graduate from the University of Alberta.
